With Allertons being a very high-end beauty salon located on the upper-gallery of The Light shopping mall in central Leeds, Nick the owner wanted signage that would reflect the quality of his business. It had to have a timeless classical look, as though it had always been there.
Taking inspiration from the recent refurbishment of Leeds railway station, we decided to adopt a fifties black and chrome look.
We created an anthracite backing tray, and mounted polished stainless letters with opal faces, internally-lit with LEDs. A projecting sign was fitted in a matching style to attract the attention of passing shoppers.
A very simple project, but ultimately one of my favourite signs of all time……………
